12 Healthy(ish) Chocolate Recipes
The fact that I have about as many recipes for on the blog for chocolate as for chicken says something about my priorities. I’m rather fond of the stuff. Dark chocolate in some shape or form is always in my pantry. And when I’m not eating it straight up, I like to spin it into bars, cookies, and other treats. Below is a line up of 12 healthy(ish) chocolate recipes. They range from two-ingredients chocolate-dipped strawberries to dark chocolate brownies enriched with tender sweet potato.
You’ll see I’ve included a few notes for each recipe that might lend some healthy(ish) appeal. I’m not here to tell you that this is all a bunch of health food, but I will say these sweets don’t leave me with a tummy ache or sugar hangover (and they hit the sweet spot, literally). As for what type of chocolate to buy, I typically aim for dark chocolate that is 70% or more cacao (translation: less sugar, more antioxidant-rich flavanols. Guittard is my go-to brand. I also think the big baking bars from Trader Joe’s are quite good as well as the bulk chocolate sold at Sprouts, both of which are a little more budget-friendly than Guittard.

You got me at “Dark chocolate sweet potato brownies”! Not have ever seen this recipe yet, but I am intrigued. Also, the dark chocolate may overpower and the sweet potatoes may be undetectable, no? Creamy cashew pudding is another one I would like to try. I’m all for less/lower sugar anything sweets. And I also consume 70% chocolate, too. I think my taste receptors stops at 85% for eating dark chocolate. Otherwise, I will have to dip the chocolate in honey or something, which makes no sense. I’ve made a batch of pureed lentil chocolate chip cookies, and they were delightful. Thanks for sharing this “healthy-ish” list. It’s better than many sweet/dessert recipes out there!

I’d like to use True Elements Chocolate Granola with 100% Dark Chocolate and Gluten Free Rolled Oats for few recipes here as they are a Clean Label Food Brand which makes it trustworthy. Would definitely recommend these recipes to everyone. Thanks again for sharing such amazing recipes 🙂
