Easy Cheesy Thermos Beans
This is one of my “go to” favorites for school lunches that goes over well with the kids. You can start with a pot of my homemade black beans, these slow cooker pinto beans, or turn to your pantry for beans from a can or a box.
A warm thermos of Easy Cheesy Thermos Beans is tasty, filling, and nourishing. Pack a few favorite accompaniments to go along for the ride and lunch just got a little more interesting.
Easy Cheesy Thermos Beans
To help keep the beans warm during the school day, preheat the thermos by filling it with boiling water while the beans heat on the stove. When the bean are hot, dump the water out of the thermos and immediately fill it with the beans and cheese and screw on the lid.

Hi Katie I love your website and as a full time working, food obsessed mummy of two I send you a huge thank you. Until today your slow cooked Indian tacos and slow cooked chicken and lack bean enchiladas have been huge favourites.
But step aside, my eight year old daughter and I did your pot of black beans on the weekend (it’s chilly spring in Melbourne) and today she took this for lunch. She ABSOLUTELY loved it, her class mates were jealous and I’m now the ‘best Mummy in the whole world’ massive thanks Katie, I really value your website and help making family life smoother and healthier. And I hope that you’re doing well with one less child in the house.
